Best known for their "Dig for a Day" archaeological expeditions in Beit Guvrin, 40 mins outside Jerusalem, this company also offers private tours in and around the city for individuals and groups of up to 10 people. Private Itineraries can be custom-tailored to your interests and start from $200 for a half day and $325 for a full day tour. Individual participants pay $30 per person + 25NIS entrance fee to the national park. You'll get hands on experience in digging for treasures in ancient caves. Three hours of sifting, sorting, digging and crawling through cave systems that have produced a myriad of fascinating finds will be yours on a day with the guides from Archeological Seminars. In 2011, digs are concentrated on Tel Maresha, caves from Herodian times.
