About

This museum is located in a house that was built by the Pisa family shortly after the reconquest of Granada by the Catholic Kings in 1492. It is located in the lower Albaicin area of Granada just above the Plaza de Santa Ana. The Pisa family supported many charitible works, including those of a local priest in the 1500s ( who took care of the poor and infirm) and who later became cannonized as St. John of God. On March 8, 1550 St John of God died in this house and the room where he passed away is still preserved to this day. The house and its architecture is very interesting and the place is filled with beautiful sculptures and paintings made by various artists
