The Austrian Jewish Museum was founded in 1972 and is the first Jewish museum in Austria after WWII. Located in Eisenstadt, the capital of Burgenland, it is only 50 km away from Vienna. The museum has an 1,000 square meter exhibition area, a private synagogue, an auditorium and a library with about 10,000 books. All exhibition objects come from local and west Hungarian Jews.
