Awadhpuri has become fairly popular with the non-vegetarian and cosmopolitan crowd of Ahmedabad, though their consistency is suspect. Their Mutton Galouti Kebabs are undoubtedly very popular and simply melt in the mouth - the green brigade needn't despair as they have a vegetarian version of this Lucknavi speciality. Excellent Nihari Gosht and delectable Dal-e-Dum, too. Their Kakori Kebab is not bad either. Also worth trying are the Murgh Kavi Mashuk, Lagan Murgh, Kallu Mahal Bhuna Gosht, Dum ki Machhi, Dum Gosht Biryani, Lachilla Aloo, Aloo Dahiwala and various paneer preparations, though some feel that the standard of some of these dishes is now slipping, especially their vegetarian offerings. One section of the menu is dedicated to Jain dishes. From the breads offered, you can order Warqui Paratha, Khaboos Naan or Awadhi Naan to go with your food. For dessert, try the Kheer; the Khubani ka Meetha does not quite live up to the standards. In keeping with the cuisines served, the restaurant has a Mughal decor with latticework, floral motifs, visuals of nawabs, Mughal forts and Mughal-period Rajput monuments. This place has also become popular for its banquet facilities.
