Banana Museum

Harrison Exhibit Center

About

Open since 1976, this museum holds more than 17,000 items on display - the world's largest collection of banana items. If it has something to do with bananas, it is here in this storefront museum. The items are sent in by members of the Banana Club, to owner Ken "Banana Man" Bannister. Items include banana-shaped telephones, lamps, banana plush toys, stickers, books, T-shirts and much more. There is no adult-related material though, so it is appropriate for all ages. This is a Los Angeles secret that is worth a visit if you are interested in kitsch and popular culture.
Specialty Museums  Set in a working plantation, this museum covers everything you could possibly want to know about the banana, from harvesting to packaging to its depiction in pottery and art.
