Bare Island Fort was built to protect "Sydney's back door"- Botany Bay - thus settling the minds of the early settlers. Enter a world of military pride, shocking scandals and hidden secrets. On Sundays The Bare Island Fort is open for guided tours. Tickets can be purchased prior to the tour from the La Perouse Museum. Bookings are essential. For group bookings over 20 people, please contact the National Parks and Wildlife Service.There are parking and picnic areas on the mainland at La Perouse monuments.
