About

Enjoy the charm and challenge of Ratho Farm Golf Links - Australia’s oldest golf course. Located in Bothwell, On site is the Australian Golf Museum and Clubmaker’s Cottage run by Ross Baker, a Traditional Clubmaker, golf pro, historian and curator of the golf museum. A fun challenge to the modern equipped golfer is the rare experience of playing the course as the first golfers did, by hiring Hickory Golf Clubs. Time stands still at Ratho Farm and it is maintained in the tradition of all early golf courses. Grazing sheep are included on the green keeping staff to assist in keeping the fairways mown and provide good playing surfaces. The course is open to visitors at all times, currently with 15 holes. Visitors are invited to play three new holes, which will complete 18 holes from Spring 2010. Make sure you allocate an hour or more to learn about the origins of golf at the Australian Golf Museum, only 5 minutes away in the heart of Bothwell village. Group bookings are welcome, and a day trip/overnight stay in Bothwell can be booked. Activities include hickory golf, a caddy, meals, a personalised tour, guest speakers and visit the Golf Museum.
