In its heyday, Bungaree was like a small village with its beautiful sandstone Woolshed, Shearers Quarters, Stable Yard, Station Store, Managers House, staff cottages and even the District Council Chambers and a Church. Today it is still one of Australia's parent merino studs, and many of the buildings have been converted into comfortable accommodation. Overnight guests can explore the historic station, enjoy the wide open spaces, feed the animals, use the swimming pool and gym, or simply relax around the fire with some local wine. Bungaree Station is also open between 10 am and 4pm for day visitors by prior appointment. You can enjoy an interactive history trail, comprising of a series of audio-posts, signs and displays around the station complex, which provide a fascinating insight into SA's early pioneering history. Groups are welcome by prior appointment and discounts are available for groups of 20 or more.
