About

The Antinori marchesi launched the vineyards that became a wine empire some 26 generations ago. Their first wine bar (still going) was installed in a 15th-century palazzo in Florence. Today, this Zurich branch brings their high-quality ingredients -- often from Antinori farms -- and aromatic wines to the city on the Limmat. The waiters speak all known languages (well, almost) and are most helpful in guiding you through the delectable menu. Over the bar a sign reads TARTUFFO, ANCORA, TARTUFF, SOLO TARTUFFO, meaning "Truffles, more truffles, and only truffles." This seems to be a mantra that the chefs live by, as evoked by their superb filets of veal with a generous portion of white truffles. Some of the specialties seemed to have arrived intact from their Florentine branch, including sausages with white haricot beans and thick oven-roasted Chiana beef. Top off your meal with an espresso macchiato, accompanied by a small dish of Cantuccini (biscuits with almonds).
