About

The centuries-old Casa de Linhares was once the home of an aristocratic family, and was destroyed in the year 1755 by an earthquake. Today another establishment by the same name stands where it once stood, serving up delicious Portuguese cuisine and popularizing the traditional "fado" music. This establishment, in the Alfama neighborhood, is as popular for the musicians that perform here, as for its in-house restaurant, Bacalhau de Molho. The wine, menu and music are likely to enchant you, and the historical feel of the place will transport you back in time to the 18th century.
