The inaugural Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair event was held in 2007, hosting sixteen Aboriginal-owned incorporated Art Centres. Its membership is made up of the Indigenous Art Centres it represents. The Foundation is governed by a board of nine (9) representatives with a minimum representation of three (3) Aboriginal board members. It was agreed that board positions would include: cultural leaders, Art Centre managers, peak body representatives and industry directors.
