Derrynane Blue Flag Beach is located in a proposed Natural Heritage Area site. It is also part of the Kenmare River SAC and the Iveragh Peninsula SPA. The area is rich in biodiversity and of significant national importance. Derrynane Beach is a sheltered sandy beach with a natural harbour and is a great spot for swimming and other watersports.This beach is lifeguarded during the bathing season and more information can be found on the notice board located at the beach.
