Devi Kund Sagar is mainly a royal crematorium and has numerous cenotaphs built in the memory of members of the royal family of Bikaner. These cenotaphs are built using red sandstone and have carvings that resemble those of the buildings of Fatehpur Sikri. The cenotaphs built later, were made using marble. One of the most important cenotaphs in the area, is of Maharaj Surat Singh. This cenotaph is influenced by the Rajasthani architectural style and Rajput paintings.
