Dresdner Stollenfest

Bautzner Strasse 80

About

Started in 1994, this festival is now the hallmark of the Striezelmarkt—the Dresden Christmas fair. During the first week of Advent, the streets of the city come alive with artisans and craftsmen, who display their works and engage in some fierce bargaining with tourists and locals. Do not miss the baking of the Giant Stollen that weighs up to four tonnes and the cheerful procession across the Old Town, led by the country's skilled pastry chefs and bakers. Other highlights of Dresdner Stollenfest are the unveiling of the Giant Stollen, the grand cake-cutting and the Frolich show, featuring a court jester. Get a taste of the old-world Germany!
