this place is named after one of the greatest mosques in cairo which was named after the grandson of Muhammad, Husayn ibn Ali, whose head is believed by some to be buried on the grounds of the mosque ,it was built on the cemetery of the Fatimid caliphs, a fact that was later discovered during the excavation. The mausoleum (dating back to 1154) is the oldest part of the complex. there you will find one of the places that shows the egyptian and the muslim culturs you will enjoy therethe egyptian food at local egyptian cafes and you will enjoy shopping there where you find very beautiful sovouneirs
