The temple was first built in the years 627-649, during the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty.The main structures face south, arranged along a north-south axis-front hall, central hall, rear hall, rear pavilion as well as some side buildings including halls of Lord G uan Yun, Jade Emperor, etc. the main gate faces east.

The Fire God enshrined in the central hall is a Taoist deity, with red eyebrows and a red beard.
