Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (from Dutch[1] vlamingen: Flemish people, English: Flamengo Regatta Club), commonly referred to as Flamengo (Portuguese pronunciation: [flɐˈmẽgu]), is a Brazilian football club based in Rio de Janeiro. They play in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A,[2] Brazil's national league, and is one of the only five clubs to have never been relegated to the second division, along with Santos, São Paulo, Internacional and Cruzeiro.[3]
