Freak Street - Historic home of western hippies seeking enlightenment, but now just a few restaurants and hotels. Old Freak Street is a small street located at the south of Kathmandu Durbar Square . Presently known as Old Freak Street, this ancient street was named as Freak Street referring to the hippie trail of 1960s and 1970s. The Freak Street area is a lively Nepalese neighborhood where families live, do business, and go to school, but with an entirely unique history.
