Guided Family Walks: Departing the Visitor Centre at 2pm. Every Wednesday and Sunday - Starting Wednesday 9th April until Sunday 5th October. Additionally every Bank Holiday Monday.Route 1Scollops GlenlackGrade: ModerateA 4 hour walk up to a height of 420m over upland blanket bog following the ridge of the main glen with good views of Lough Veagh then through the a secluded atlantic oakwood land glen and a road track to the castle. Dates of walks: 16th March, 7th June, 24th August, 12th OctoberRoute 1aMain Glen Ridge to WaterfallGrade: ModerateA 4 hour walk following beginning with a newly restored bridle path then follows upland blanket bog and the northern ridge of the main glen with good views of Lough Veagh ending with a newly restored stone pitched section following the old stalkers path and a road track to the castleDates of walks: 16th March, 7th June, 24th August, 12th OctoberRoute 2Poisoned Glen WalkGrade: ModerateA 4 hour walk up to a height of 480m over upland blanket bog and rough granite outcrops. The walk follows the eastern ridge of the poison glen and has some of the finest views in the NW looking down Lough Nacung and the western Donegal coast.Dates of walks: 4th May, 28th June, 13th July, 13th DecemberRoute 3Dooish Walk Grade: StrenuousA 5 and half hour walk to the highest summit in the park. Good views of the North and West Donegal coast and good prospects of seeing Red deer. The walk ends with a newly restored pitched path near to the main waterfall in the park and a road track to the castle.Dates of walks: 13th March, 24th May, 4th August, 28th SeptemberRoute 3aStaghall MountainGrade: ModerateA 5 hour walk covering rough upland blanket bog up to a height of 480m with good chances to see the main red deer herd and the highest lochans in the park with good views of the main glen finishing with views of the waterfall and finishing with a road track to the castleDates of walks: 13th March, 24th May, 4th August, 28th SeptemberRoute 4 Main Glen WalkGrade: EasyA 3 hour walk following a the old drovers road track past some of the old inhabited dwellings with good views of the main glen. An optional detour through a secluded atlantic oakwood gorge may be included.
