Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the district of Chamba, is one of the most popular as well as most frequented sanctuaries in state of Himachal Pradesh. Popularly known as the Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary, the entire forest is covered with the thick foliage of deodar trees. In addition the sanctuary is also home to several animals and birds. Sprawling over an area of 1962 hectares, the sanctuary is located at a distance of 6 km from Dalhousie. The vegetation is in this sanctuary mainly comprises blue pine, fir and deodar trees.
