alpeshwar Mahadev temple dedicated to lord Shiva and hair locks (jata) of Shiva worshipped is one of the Panch Kedar Pilgrimages in Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand state of India. Situated in Chamoli district 2,134 meters above sea level, Kalpeshwar temple is one of the best places for meditation in Uttarakhand Himalayas. Kalpeshwar is the only Panch Kedar pilgrimage open throughout the year.
Kalpeshwar temple has a small stone idol of lord Shiva. Nearby the temple is a cave upon which is the image of hair locks beautifully and naturally carved.
