Lady Canning's Seat

Lady Canning's Seat is a favoured tourist attraction amongst the history lovers and wanderers, who come roaming from Ooty. Situated at some 9 km from the town of Coonoor, it's an old mansion. So much so, that you can call it a vintage mansion. It's named after the spouse of the British Viceroy, Charlotte Canning. Brimming with an old world charm that's hard to miss, it takes you into a time warp of sorts. Apart from getting you a sneak peek in the history of the place, it also offers an astonishing view of the valleys and rapidly rising hills all around. A rising sun looks a different shade of a sunrise when you see it from Lady Canning's Seat.
