The mention of reptiles, especially snakes will send most people screaming away. This has not deterred the establishment of a reptile park in Lake Baringo. Situated in The Great Rift Valley, Lake Baringo is one of the only two fresh water lakes in The Rift Valley and is mostly popular for two kinds of wildlife; the hippopotamus and the crocodiles who seem to live in harmony.

Lake Baringo and its environment is mostly rocky and hot which makes the perfect climate for reptiles such as snakes.

For people who are interested in these reptiles, getting to know about them can be a challenge and thus the Reptile Park was started for this very reason; educate. The park is open on a daily basis and it showcases a variety of snake species including; Spitting Cobra, Puff Adder, Boomslang. Other retile species include monitor lizards, crocodiles and tortoises.

Though the climate is mostly hot and dry, there are over 500 different bird species to see due to the lake. Other activities include boat riding.
