The name of this restaurant means magician in Norwegian. The cuisine isn't magical, but it is exceedingly good, with generally successful flavor combinations. The staff offers a friendly welcome, as they let you order from an ever-changing menu. Fresh fish such as scallops are always on the menu, as is a well-chosen array of meat, poultry, and lamb dishes. Some dishes may be less than brilliant, but they are always based on fresh ingredients competently cooked. The best thing on the menu is the homemade ice cream in many flavors. If you'd like, you can enjoy a beer or a glass of wine on the ground level in front of a large fireplace. The wine selection, much of it by the glass, is one of the best in town.
