Manse on the Beach is a luxurious beach house situated on the sea front in the tranquil village of Cloughey, situated in Cloughey Bay near the tip of the Ards Peninsula, just 45 minutes drive from Belfast. It is an ideal weekend or summer base to escape to the sea and explore the wonders of the Ards Peninsula, and it is only 4 miles from the charming village of Portaferry. All rooms are centrally heated (oil fired) with an Aga in the kitchen, have breathtaking views of the beach and are beautifully furnished in a traditional style.Originally built in the 1920s , this very spacious house has recently been restored, retaining much of its original charm, with beautiful pitch pine flooring and woodwork features throughout.Two large lounge areas - open fireplaces in each with ample seating, TV/DVD player, games and library. The second reception room has a pine dining table, with charming pitch pine dresser and additional seating. Magnificent views of the beach from both. Extensive solid pine kitchen with dining area, includes traditional Belfast sink, aga, gas hob and electric cooker, washer/dryer, dish washer, microwave and fridge/freezer. Large, comfortable bathroom, with enamel bath and electric power shower, and ample storage areas. Additional shower room and toilet on the ground floor. Two spacious double rooms and two triple room comfortably sleeps up to 9, with traditional pine beds, drawers & wardrobes in each room. All sleeping accommodation is situated on the second floor accessible by the main stair case to the first landing and a second set of stairs to the second landing. This is an important consideration for guests with accessiblity issues.The House is strictly non-smoking. Smoking facilities are available in the back courtyard.Pets are usually welcome at the property (maximum 2) as long as they sleep in the kitchen at night time and guests ensure the place is left as they find it.
