Maracuyá

Av. San Martín 321 Cuisines: Seafood

About

The Azapa and Lluta valleys are Chile's tropical fruit orchards, and this restaurant makes ample use of its namesake, the passion fruit. For fish and seafood, it's Arica's best choice, with fruit flavored sweet-and-sour sauces accompanying the varied choices on the menu. Try the salmon in a piquant pineapple sauce or the succulent sea bass with a light orange glaze. Couple this with its location, perched in a villa almost over the water on a rocky stretch of coastline near the Morro, and you have one fine restaurant indeed. The terrace can be a little drafty -- dress accordingly if you wish to sit outside, especially at night.
