a mountainous area just north and north east of islamabad a beautiful walk through pine, lavender and grassy knolls and hills some deeply forested areas several tracks meander up the slopes(security is a serious concern on some and one needs to be aware and watchful). rhesus monkeys, small primates and snakes may be a nuisance. awesome views of verdant valleys around, and Islamabad to one side. from across the maoutains you cross over into hazara division up north and get a view of the fatal folley of rock quarying. some great mountains have deep gnaws in them and dust is every where. the tracks bend and twist up to a several small spots and villages, local shack hotels, food not recommended. NO medical aid, carry your own food water and supplies. several nice spots to rest and picnic or hear the rustling pines, the warbling avain richness. a rock face for rock climbing enthusiasts, no facilities, carry your own gear and know your strengths to venture that way. great photo oppertunity. some areas are restricted for foreigners so please be advised and get information before hand.
