About

Maxwells is a family run, casual dining bistro located in Galway city centre on Williamsgate Street just off Eyre Square. It opens at 10am for morning coffee, fresh scones and late breakfasts. Lunch runs from 12 midday until 5 pm when it changes over to dinner service. Last orders are around 9pm. Brunch is served on Sundays. Maxwells focuses on serving freshly prepared food using quality ingredients obtained from local artisan suppliers. Lunchtime sandwiches are made on baguettes from Griffins Bakery, the smoked fish platter is from the Burren Smokehouse and all the fresh fish is delivered daily from Rossaveal Harbour. After 6pm the menu changes to more classical Irish fayre like traditional fish pie, braised shoulder of lamb on coco bean ragout, 10 hour slow roast pork belly with apple compote and black pudding and pan fried sea bass.At Maxwells it's all about the food. The ambiance is casual, which makes it great for informal gatherings of friends and family. The O'Meara family and their culinary and service team look forward to welcoming you.
