Consider San Miguel Market as Madrid's foodie paradise. The recently refurbished interior has row after row of Spanish and international foods (both fresh and prepared) to sample on the premises (including Spanish wine and tapas) or to gather the ingredients for a special dinner later. The ironwork of the historic building was patterned after the now defunct Les Halles in Paris.
