URDU is national language of Pakistan. However, at the time of creation of Pakistan, there was British Rule in undivided India. As a continuity of government functions, all functionaries continued to work in English. Accordingly, it was declared as Official Language of Pakistan. However, in mid 80s, the government realized the need of promoting Urdu on official level. To transform the daily business of government from English to Urdu, National Language Authority was established. The prime role of the Authority was to transform the official jargon into Urdu so that it could be completely changed and switched into Urdu. The authority has to date done commendable job and published number of books and guidelines in Urdu. The job of authority is untiring and continuous.
