Museo d'Arte Sacra

Piazza Pecori (the courtyard through the arch to the left of the church entrance)

About

The archway to the left of the Collegiata's facade leads to a pretty brick courtyard called Piazza Pecori. On one side, under brick vaulting, is a fresco of the Annunciation painted in 1482 by either Domenico Ghirlandaio or his brother-in-law and pupil Sebastiano Mainardi. Inside the small museum across the piazza, the sacred art collection includes a Madonna and Child triptych painted by Bartolo di Fredi and some illuminated choir books. The Etruscan museum that was once here has been moved.
