Formerly known as the Museo Municipal, the Museo de Historia de Madrid (Madrid History Museum) is housed in an historic Barroque-style building on Fuencarral Street and covers Madrid's history from the 16th century until today. The museum was closed to the public in 2002 for a series of renovations, but as of 2011, the museum is still closed.
