North West Adventure-Outdoor Education Centre promotes responsible outdoor recreation through fun, leadership, teamwork and education. Ensuring ‘duty of care’ and safety of the group at all times, in accordance with Mountaineering Ireland, The Irish Mountain Training Board, Canoe Association of Northern Ireland and the Irish Canoe Union. They protect the natural environment by promoting the ‘Leave No Trace’ programme ‘Outdoor Ethics for Outdoor Recreation’. An education programme designed to help people to make better environmental decisions when on outdoor activity. They provide kayaking, Canadian canoeing, hill walking, rock climbing, team building, camping in the hills, wilderness camping and bonfire lit by flint, slackline, orienteering, white water canoeing, raft building, night walk, basic navigation skills, camp skills, wilderness canoeing and camping expeditions, pier jumping and bivying. They are based in Ballinafad, County Sligo.
