The lake itself is a pleasing body of water, hedged by beautiful trees on the far side. The tourist infrastructure occupies a small patch on the northern bank. There's a large area at the entrance with flowers, snacks and toy sellers. Boating is the prime attraction and is great fun. The lake is large enough for one to be able to get away from crowds for the most part. Surrounded by tall Eucalyptus tree, it makes for a serene place, with the waters owing to the different streams that run by the hills. Initially, water from the Ooty Lake was dammed to form the lake.
