About

Otrazhenie Wax Museum ( Otrazhenie Muzei Voskovykh Figur), was founded in 1987 by a commercial organization. Like Madame Tussaud's in London, this museum recreates the physical forms of famous historical figures from throughout history and around the world. The museum claims to have the largest collection of wax figures both in Russia and abroad. There are wax representations of Ivan the Terrible, Catherine the Great, Adolf Hitler, Mikhail Gorbachev and many others. Friendly guides will tell you the stories behind the people. There is another branch of the museum at Sokolniki Park (Attractions avenue, Lukomorie, metro: Sokolniki) where children can travel into the world of Russian fairy tales and see Baba-Iaga and other traditional Russian folk characters.
