Papa Andreas

Muristan Bazaar Cuisines: Arabic

About

In good weather, the rooftop dining terrace of this restaurant offers a spectacular day, evening, or night view of the Old City, with the Dome of the Rock and the Temple Mount in the distance. The menu includes tasty medleys of Middle Eastern appetizers, grilled meats, shwarma, and even pasta and pizza. Nothing on the menu is dramatic, but the view makes up for that. Service is friendly, attentive, and the management doesn't mind if you linger to enjoy the twilight and the evening prayer calls. Bring a warm sweater if you plan to eat dinner on the roof -- even Jerusalem summer evenings get chilly -- but the vistas make the cold and the climb up several flights of stairs worthwhile.
