Pavagada Fort is situated in the extreme north-eastern part of the Tumkur District. This fort was by the Vijayanagar chieftain in 1405. The battle between Tipu Sultan and British was fought at this site.  It is believed that the war among British and Tipu Sultan was fought at this place.
