About

The Plaza de Cascorro is a lively square located in the Lavapiés neighborhood. The square is dedicated to the soldiers who died at Cascorro, Cuba in the Spanish-American War of 1898; its main feature is the bronze statue of local war hero Eloy Gonzalo. On Sundays, Madrid's famous flea market, El Rastro, springs up around the square.
