Location, location, location is one of the draws at this traditional-style restaurant on the Strossmayerovo Setaliste steps midway between Trg Bana Jelacica and Gornji Grad. The atmosphere is intimate and the food superb. Bread and tiny balls of Croatian pâté start the meal, which could be anything from grilled meat to pasta. Try the grilled monkfish, which comes with blitva, the Croatian version of chopped spinach; or shrimp risotto, generously laced with juicy, plump pieces of seafood. Desserts are decadent, but crepes with strawberries and ice cream is just right after the American-size main course. The wine list is loaded with fairly priced Croatian choices.
