The Tiradentes Square is a public park located in the center of the city of Rio de Janeiro , Brazil. The sun sets on Tiradentes Square, which is named after the famous martyr of the process of independence of Brazil. However, the illuminated statue in the photo is not of Tiradentes, contrary to what they think thousands of people crossing the square every day. The sculpture, granite, bronze and iron, is d. Peter I at the time declared the Independence of Brazil, on September 7, 1822. This monument was designed by Brazilian artist Maximilian Mafra, but the work was carried out in France by Louis Rochet and Auguste Rodin. Opened in 1882, was restored in 2005 and today is considered the largest monument in Latin America.
