Puerto Banus

Rue Ibn Hanbal (opposite the Surète Nationale and tennis club) Cuisines: Seafood

About

Marrakech is only 160km (99 miles) away from the major fishing port of Safi, so when owner Nouredine and his manager/uncle Youssef say they offer the freshest seafood, they're not lying. This delightful little hacienda is largely off the tourist trail and has been consistently popular with both Marrakchis and foreign residents since it opened in 1991. The friendly and professional staff presides over a menu that includes seafood tapas, seafood pastilla, Oualidia oysters, fried fruits de la mer, and various fish dishes. There are also a few beef and chicken dishes available as well as a very reasonably priced lunch menu du jour consisting of a salad buffet, entree, and dessert. However, there's not much for vegetarians other than a few salads and a vegetable tagine. The dining areas are divided between a tiled patio with wrought-iron chairs and an indoor space with whitewashed walls, dark-wood furniture, and a fireplace.
