The Shivasagar Lake is a reservoir in the state of Maharashtra , India . The lake was formed after the Koyna River was impounded by the Koyna Dam . Go to enjoy the surroundings, the serenity and a quick boat ride. About an hour's drive from Mahabaleshwar takes one to Tapola which is on the banks of Shivsagar lake. There are other approaches too, including one from Bamnoli near Satara
