Siam Paradise Night Bazaar

2430 Sukhumvit Road

About

When Suan Lum Night Bazaar was no more, there was a bit of a cultural loss for Bangkok. Siam Paradise goes a long way in healing that. Like Suan Lum it has the big Angkor-style gate, a 400-table beer garden, food vendors and a massive covered market filled with tourist items, furniture, clothing and other miscellany. Two to three bands play each night throughout the market's opening hours. There is also a small lighted Ferris wheel. The night market is located right at the pedestrian bridge across Sukhumvit Road near the intersection with Soi 101/1. Parking is in a free lot behind the market and the entrance is only accessible from the west-going lanes of Sukhumvit. Others coming in from the east will need to drive a distance down Sukhumvit Road before there is a u-turn. The closest BTS stop will be Punnawathi which should be operational in August 2010. Otherwise take a bus from On Nut station. Buses 2, 23, 25, 38, 48, 116, 132, 552 should get you there. (Ask to be sure.) Motorcycle taxis charge 30 baht for the trip to On Nut.
