Siri Mole e Companhia

Copacabana Cuisines: Seafood, American

About

A favorite among lovers of fresh seafood, this Copacabana hotspot serves possibly the best moquecas (seafood stews) in the city. The secret to perfecting this typical Bahian dish, apparently, is in the quality of the ingredients – such as palm oil imported directly from Bahia, and coconut milk extracted directly from the coconut flesh by hand. There are several versions on the menu here, the most popular of which are the version with fish (R$72 for a dish that serves two people); shrimp (R$95); and siri mole crab (R$83). The bobó de camarão (a typical northeastern dish made with shrimp, yucca and coconut milk) is also impossible to fault.
