This small, intimate restaurant has an open-to-view kitchen with a fireplace in the center. Because it's the north of Norway, you expect the chefs to specialize in filet of reindeer, and they do prepare the meat exceedingly well. But personally, we prefer to look for the daily specials based on the day's catch from the fjord. Pepper steak is another specialty here, and we found it tender, pink, and flavorful -- the sauce has just the right amount of fire. The Rica Bar and Disco, also in the cellar of the hotel, is open Friday and Saturday from 10pm to 3am so you can dance and drink the night away. Admission is NOK75 ($15/£7.50). The minimum age is 20, and beer costs NOK45 to NOK55 ($9-$11/£4.50-£5.50) per half-liter.
