Srisailam Dam is the 2nd largest capacity hydroelectric project in the country. The dam is constructed on the Krishna River which flows in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. It is located at a distance of around 150 kilometres from the capital city of Hyderabad and is surrounded by the Nallamala Hills on the southern and eastern sides.
