The town had become a Spa in the late 18th century. The church was built in 1896 in the centre of the town, as a mission church. The old parish church of St. David's Llanwrtyd, just over a mile north on the Abergwestyn road although technically redundant, is still open and used for occassional services. The church is open for worship with services usually at 11.00 a.m. every Sunday and 10.00 a.m. every Wednesday, please check first to avoid disappointment
