Taal Volcano

Tagaytay, Manila, Philippines

About

Situated within a lake about 50 km (90 minutes) drive south of Manila, the view of Taal Volcano from Tagaytay ridge is one of the most picturesque in the Philippines. The Volcano is called the smallest active volcano in the world and it is particularly unique because it has a lake of its own inside its crater which is called Crater Lake. Once there, the adventurous can descend into the lake for sailing, hiking or horseback riding and if you want to learn a new skill Taal Lake Yacht club offers sailing lessons (http://www.sailphi.org.ph). Tagaytay itself has plenty of restaurants and small hotels, and if the idea of returning to Manila city life gets too much, it's a great place to spend time in to get a healthy dose of fresh, cool air.
