Tors Hammer

Fridtjof Nansens plass 8

About

Named after the chief weapon of the Norse god of thunder (Thor), this place lives up quite well to its Viking image. The music is loud, the beer is reasonably priced, and the tables are built to withstand a good dancing-upon. The place is often crowded, and is perhaps not the place to go for those slow, tender dances. But if you aim to party your head off (not literally, though, even if there are battle axes on the walls), you may have come to the right place. Just try not to cross the line that brings the wrath of the gods (the guys at the door), who know how to keep things from getting out of hand. It is located on one of the side streets off the main street Karl Johan, towards the waterfront.
