For over 300 years the UDK has been the primary institution of art instruction in Berlin. The school prides itself in having a diverse range of departments, including architecture, fine arts, music, performing arts, design, visual communication, acting and music theater. Throughout the year the school has over 800 events showcasing its students talents. Most popular amongst these are the "Open Door Days" in July, where the public is free to roam the halls and view pieces from current students.
